No training wheels!

Yesterday was kind of a big deal at our house....Tatum learned to ride with no training wheels! We started Tatum off with this Strider bike a few weeks ago which made the transition so much easier!

This bike was the best thing ever, I highly recommend it! It has no pedals which is great for teaching kids how to balance on their own. It only took Tatum a few weeks on this bike before he was ready to switch to a 2 wheeler.

We took the training wheels off his bike and Eric told him what to do and he did it on his first try!

Here is a video of Tatum riding for the first time!

After this Tatum was riding like a pro. I was following him in the street when he got ahead of me and I couldn't catch up. I ran after him but soon he was out of my sight. I started to panic a bit because I couldn't find him when I turned around and he was coming from the opposite direction. He had gone completely around the block and when I asked him where he went he said he went all the way around the block and stayed in the road the whole time!! Ya we had to have a talk about street safety after that :)

During all of this Trey was so cute playing on the sidewalk. He kept pulling this wagon back and forth and got the biggest kick out of it.

We then lowered the seat to the strider bike and put Trey on it and much to my surprise he could do it!

Looks like this kid will be riding a bike in no time :)

Big Boy Trey

I meant to post these back in March when it happened, but totally forgot! Trey was 20 months old when he learned how to climb out of his crib! One day I put him down for a nap while Tatum was at a friends house when all of a sudden I hear a door open upstairs. I head upstairs to find Trey standing at the top saying "Hi Mom". My first thought was that he must have fallen out of his crib, but I didn't hear any fall and he didn't seem hurt in any way. So I put him back in his crib, shut the door and went back down stairs. About 10 seconds later Trey is at the top of the stairs yelling for me again. So instantly I grab my camera and put him back in his crib to see how he escaped.

I was shocked! He did it so effortlessly as if he had been doing it for months! I first tried a few different things to keep him in his crib but non of them worked. So down went the crib and up went the toddler bed!

We tried the toddler bed out with a child lock on the door for a few days. Trey kept waking up during the night and knocking on his door. Every time it freaked me out! So I got the pack n play out and stuck him in it and to my surprise he couldn't escape! We kept him in that for 2 months until last week when he learned to climb out of that too. This kid is crazy! So back into the toddler bed he went, and now he sleeps great and never gets out of his bed!! In fact he loves it!

I just can't believe how big this kid is getting, he needs to slow down! Each new stage is so exciting and its fun to see him grow, but I just can't handle the thought of my baby growing up!
