Gym and Soccer

This last year we decided that Trey was old enough to enjoy some extra-curricular activities. Since Tatum was in school all day I needed an outlet for Trey. I signed him up for gym class with Miss Heather and after a couple weeks of "getting used to it" Trey decided it wasn't so bad. I enjoyed it because it meant an hour of errand running without any kids :)

Trey had his last gym class ever at the end of May and it was a bit bitter sweet. They put on a little performance for the parents and it was just so cute. At first I was a bit worried that Trey was a little shy and wouldn't perform but after a pep talk from Miss Heather he was all smiles!

At the end Miss Heather presented each kid with a medal. Trey wouldn't take his off for a few days and had to show everyone he came in contact with.

We also put Trey in tot soccer this year. We had kind of high expectations with Trey and soccer. After a disaster year of tot soccer with Tatum we swore we would never do it again. Well Trey loves to play soccer in the backyard and is more aggressive than Tatum so we thought it would be so fun. We were wrong!

Things started out great with practice but when it came time for his first game the weather was terrible. A huge storm came rushing in with freezing winds and rain. Trey was miserable and just cried. After that game Trey was traumatized and refused to play again.

I tried everything I could to get him to play again and nothing worked. Finally at his 2nd to last game he told me he would play but once we got there he refused again and just cried. So frustrating!! Anyways, I did get some pictures with his little friends to document that an we at least attempted.

I had to put this picture in as well because this was what Trey did the whole time...watch from the sidelines!

This time when I say never again, I mean it :)

Quick Camping Trip

A few days after Mother's Day we made a kind of big and spontaneous purchase. For a while now we had been talking about  purchasing an R.V. to use for quick camping trips up the canyon. We thought since we live minutes from the canyon that we should utilize that more and make some fun memories with our small family. Well Eric came across an incredible deal that we just couldn't pass up. This R.V. is a lot bigger than we wanted but it had such low miles and the inside was in perfect condition that Eric talked me into it.

A few days later we loaded up the R.V. and took it on a quick trip as a trial run. We just went up to a family members lot in Alpine in case we came across some problems and so we wouldn't be stranded. It turned out to be the perfect spot. We were able to hook up the electrical and watch movies, play baseball with the kids, fish, cook in the fire pit and I was able to get in some much needed R&R. We even were able to have some friends come up and have dinner with us. It was perfect.

After this little trip I am convinced that I will never sleep in a tent again. But maybe that has something to do with the fact that I was 9 months pregnant and got a great nights sleep :)
I can't wait for all of the memories we are going to create for our kids!

Mother's Day

This Mother's Day was very special for me. It was a busy weekend with my baby shower, birthday, and mother's day all in one.

On Thursday evening my neighborhood threw me a baby shower. Not only did I get totally spoiled and "showered" with gifts, I also got the biggest and best surprise ever....my Mom! During the shower the door opened and in walks my Mom. I had no idea that she had secretly planned with Elan to come from California and surprise me for my shower. She was seriously the last person I would have expected to walk in that door. It was such a pleasant surprise and it was so fun to spend the weekend with her.

This is just a portion of what I got. Gifts kept arriving at my door for a week following my shower. I love every single thing I got and can not wait to dress this little princess up!

The next day was my birthday and I already felt like I had had my birthday with the shower the night before. I had a great day but didn't take any pictures. I got to spend the day with my Mom and sisters eating good food and shopping. Then Eric took me out to dinner and a movie that night. Simple and perfect.

Mother's Day was very special to me. It has been a while since I have gotten to spend the day with my Mom. She came to church with me and got to hear Tatum give a talk in primary and then got to have brunch with us in relief society. After church we made her a nice dinner before it was time to take her to the airport. I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures before she left.

Just the girls, half of which were 8 months pregnant :)

And Grandma with my boys.

They were sad to see her go and so was I.

That evening we went to see Eric's Mom. While I was out shopping with my Mom I found this sign that made me laugh and immediately think of Mary.

Hunter made her the cutest card.

And Rachel got her the best gift...a parachute!

After we played for a bit I made Eric snap some a few quick pics of me with my two munchkins, soon to be 3!

I am so thankful for the wonderful people I am surrounded by, especially my children. I love being a Mom and I love these little ones more than anything!
