Its Finally Finished!!!

Here is our FiNiSheD BaSeMenT....

We wont say how long it has really taken, but its finally done. Well at least done for the most part, we still have small finishing touches to do.

Today we got our couches delivered, it only took about a month of looking to find the perfect theater couch....

We still need to get our chaise lounge on the end, but it is possibly the most comfortable couch you will sit on!

So if any wants to have a movie night, we are up to it AnYtImE!!

Taking a Breather

So I realized that I haven't made a post about Tatum in who knows how long. So with that said here is a little update on him. Tatum is at the age where he is just growing and learning so fast! It seems like in the last month he has progressed so much. He started to walk, he knows what most animals say and his word collection includes: Dad, Mom, Fish, Sock, Ball, Truck, Hi, Wow, More and Thank you (all in his own adorable language of course). He also knows where his belly-button is and how to play peek-a-boo and his latest thing is to throw his hands in the air and say "ta-da". Well besides all of this, his favorite past time is when he is getting into stuff. We have "baby-proofed" most of the house with the exception of our bathroom cupboards. This is Tatum's favorite spot for mischief and pretty much the only way to buy some time to get ready in the morning. Well the other day I was getting ready and Tatum was doing his normal scrounging of the cupboards when I noticed his new invention...

He took a case that I use for my nail polish and made it into a chair. It was so funny because the way he did it made it look like he was just too tired to stand anymore, but he just had to finish his work. His little legs were just too tired to stand anymore.
What a
Smart Boy!

Back to my roots!

Growing up I had never dyed or highlighted my hair, but the moment I moved out, I started to slowly lighten my dark brunette hair. It got to the point where I was no longer brunette but, BloNdE!! Well I had been thinking for a while that I wanted to go back to my natural color, but I just didn't have the courage to do it. Finally on Thursday I got up the courage. I was scared to show Eric because he has never seen me with dark hair before...but he LoVeD it!! I think it is a good change for me, and I even figured out how to curl my hair with a flat iron!

This is what I looked like when I met Eric...

And here is my new look...

What a fun week....

This last week we have had my little sister Eryn staying with us. She drove up with my parents last weekend and decided to stay all week to spend some time with us and we sure had a good time. Well we went shopping, saw Horton Hears a Who, mini golfing and went to a concert. We tried to fill in her week with as much as we could so that she would have a fun spring break and I think that she did.
We found out that there was a concert up at the University of Utah and my Brother-in-law goes to school there and was able to get us super cheap tickets. We saw Agustana, HelloGoodbye and Shiny Toy Guns. I had never heard of Agustana before, but I loved them! HelloGoodbye is a band that Eric and I already loved, but there sound wasn't that great. And then Shiny Toy Guns was awesome! Unfortunately it was outside and a bit cold, so by the time Shiny Toy Guns came on, we were frozen...so we only stayed for about 3 of there songs. During Agustana Eric looked back behind us and about 10 feet away he saw HelloGoodbye standing there in the crowd. So we went over to talk to them and got a few pictures with them. They were way nice and just joked around with us. That was the highlight of the night...after meeting the band Eric and I felt like we could go home happy!

Thanks Eryn for a fun week...we miss you!

178th Annual General Conference

So far this year we have had so many wonderful and unforgettable experiences, many of which have been in previous posts. We have been so blessed to be a part of a few of them... such as President Hinckley's viewing and going to visit his grave site. This weekend I had another unforgettable experience. My family was in town for the weekend and we were able to get some tickets to the Saturday morning session of Conference. Now I had been to a few sessions before, but this was a special session. The stake president from my home ward, William Reynolds, just got released and on Saturday he was sustained as a member of the Area Seventy. It was neat to be there for this considering how hard it was to get tickets to this session. My parents stake in California got 20 tickets to share and my Dad amazingly was able to get four of them.

Even more amazing was that we were there to sustain Thomas S. Monson as our new Prophet. The conference center fits 22,000 people and every seat was filled. I have never seen it so packed before. In this session they talked about the building blocks of our faith. I believe that being there to sustain our new Prophet was a building block to my faith. It almost brought me to tears standing there as a member of the Relief Society and again as a congregation, to Sustain Thomas S. Monson as a Prophet, Seer and Revelator. I don't know how anyone could be there at that moment and not believe that this is the true church. This is one of those moments that I truly will never forget.

Spring has Sprung

Growing up in California, I am naturally a SuMmeR kind of girl. I love everything about summer. The 100 degree weather, beach trips, Lake Powell trips...etc. But I have to admit that Spring is probably one of my favorite times of year. Mainly because it means there is an end to Winter. I love how the second it gets warm, everyone is outside playing, wearing fLip-FloPs and short sleeved shirts! Spring is kind of my fresh start. I don't know if its the weather changing or the excitement of Summer soon approaching, but somehow at approximately this time every year, I get the urge to do my SpRinG clEaNinG. I have been unstoppable! I have cleaned my entire house from top to bottom...literally! Baseboards, doors, walls, anything with the slightest spot on it has gotten cleaned. I even went as far as to finish (or I guess start) our touch-up painting. Our house has 8 different colors on the walls and in 3 years we have NeVeR done our touch-ups. I feel like I have been a little obsessive compulsive, but overall I must say that our house looks pretty good!

Here are just a few of the colors in our home...
