Christmas Morning

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year! We were lucky enough to spend it with both sides since my parents were in town. We all got spoiled rotten! Cambria loved her purse with jewelry inside and spent 15 minutes just trying it all on. She also loved her new car seat! She sat in it most of the day and even opened her presents and played with her toys in it. Trey got his glow in the dark zip-up bedding that he wanted so bad and Tatum got his iPod and sports everything! The boys started a tradition this year of buying gifts for each other with their own money. They both said it felt so good to give their gifts and I think they really learned that it is better to give than to receive!

Here is a look into our morning together. I only took pictures in the morning and then put the camera away to enjoy each others company :)

Gingerbread Trains

Every year we get together with Eric's family and make gingerbread trains. This year we did ours a bit late in the season to wait for Bethany and Jeremy to get in town. We had a rough start to our night with hitting a rock on our way there and getting a flat tire. It was dark and raining so we waited for Eric's dad to come save the day and help us out. Finally we got there and had a great time decorating our train. The boys had so much fun with our train and did most of the work themselves. Camrbia loved playing with the girls and we all went home in a sugar coma!

A Visit to Santa

One night a few weeks before Christmas, the kids were being absolutely terrible. As I was attempting to put them to bed, they were doing everything possible to not listen to me and avoid going to bed. Over and over  I warned them that Elfie was going to report back to Santa and they wouldn't get anything for Christmas. Nothing worked. So the next morning the woke up to a warning from Elfie.

When the woke up and saw what happened they were in complete shock! They were so sad and worried that I decided to take them to see Santa himself. Cambria wanted nothing to do with him and within seconds of putting her on his lap she was in tears. It made for a classic Santa picture!

All day long the kids were on their best behavior and they worked so hard to be good so that Elfie could come home. When we got back from seeing Santa, we saw that Elfie came back and he brought the kids a present...Elf pajamas! They were so excited! I took advantage of the moment and snapped some pictures of the kids by the tree. I love seeing the magic of Christmas through my children's eyes. There is nothing quite like it!

Elfie Breakfast

We held our annual Elf Breakfast just after Thanksgiving. The kids were so surprised when they came downstairs in the morning and saw Elfie! Our elf decorated our dining table with snowflakes and yummy treats for the kids. Cambria slept in so she missed the excitement but still got to enjoy the delicious donuts that Elfie brought. The kids look forward to this every year!
