[..We are Homeowners Again..]

We are officially the newest residents of Cedar Hills, Ut! We finally closed on our new home on Friday. On Saturday night we went to the house to watch fireworks. We pretty much watched them from our front yard. I like to think they were welcoming us to the neighborhood, but apparently it was Cedar Hills days or something :)

{The House}

The house was a foreclosed home and the people who lived there before were pretty mad and kind of trashed the place. They punched holes in the walls and ripped their plasma TV right out of the wall. I guess that scared a lot of people away because the home was put under contract twice and failed before we came around! So we haven't moved in yet because we are having the walls patched up and painted before we bring any furniture into the house. The house itself is really nice, it has a fully finished basement and a beautiful kitchen with nice cherry wood floors. This whole house is a blank canvas I can't wait to get in there and "Elyseify" the place. I have tons of ideas in my mind of projects I want to get started on. This house has so much potential its crazy. We don't LOVE the outside but we played around with it on photoshop and you wont believe the difference some shutters and landscaping can make!

{The Neighborhood}

One of the things that drew us to this location was the neighborhood. I can tell already that I am going to love it here. There is a beautiful park right around the corner and the house is right on the Cedar Hills golf course. We are also probably a minute away from AF Canyon. I can't wait to get our annual pass there and go camping, hiking and rock climbing in our own backyard! We went to our new ward on Sunday and I can't believe how great it was, we were so impressed! It was just split so it was small and everyone was so friendly. I had a girl come up to me after church and said that she moved in 2 weeks ago and could see herself and I being good friends. I know this will be a great move for us. I was so worried about moving from a Townhome into a home and losing the "closeness" of the neighborhood. I now know that will not be an issue. The best part about this move is that we now are so much closer to Eric's family. Every person in his family is within 15 minutes of us!

I don't have any pictures of the place yet but I'm sure as we start our projects I will be doing a lot of before and after posts. So stay tuned!

[..Larsen Wedding..]

Last week Eric's Uncle Terry got re-married. I had a lot of fun taking pics of the family and of course Tatum in his handsome Tux. I have been trying out some different techniques is photoshop and am LOVING all that can be done to edit a photo! Beware: I just had to post all of these pics, I know there are a lot!

Here is one of my favorites from the night. I love, love, looovvee Tatum's seventies!

Tatum has been so into bugs lately, so when Pat found a caterpillar he had to hold it...

Here's the whole fam, minus Gramma and Pop-Pop and Bethany...

Tatum hanging on for dear life...

Tatum {funnies}

Well not much is going on in my neck of the woods. We have just been living with my In-laws and things have been busy but fun. If everything goes as planned, we should be closing on a house this week in Cedar Hills. I am so excited to have my own place again. I will post more on that later, but for now I thought I would take a minute to jot down some of the funny things that Tatum has said lately. I don't want to forget this cute stage in his life! Everyday I am amazed at how funny and smart he is.

This week I took Tatum to the Dinosaur Museum for the first time...sad I know! Well as we walked in we saw the "giant Dino's" as Tatum calls them and he said looking up at them "I can not believe it". Now if any of you have kids that watch Little Einsteins you will know this is a quote from that show. I was dying laughing!

Then in the car the other day he said...
Tatum: " Mom, I have an idea!"
Me: "Whats that?"
Tatum: "To play with Daddy's phone!"
Me: "Oh really?"
Tatum: "Ya, that would be fun!"

Sometimes he will come to me and say "Bye Mom, I'm going to work. See you later." Then he will run up to me and say "Give me kisses" and as he runs away he says "I love you!" It is the cutest thing. I guess Eric's routine has rubbed off on him.

Oh and the funniest thing is when he passes gas or fluffs or whatever you want to call it, he will say "oops, excuse my bum!"

We're out!

Well we are officially out of our house! I am a little behind on posting because things have been a little crazy here but we were officially out of the house on Monday! It was such a bitter-sweet moment for me. I have such mixed feelings about the whole move.

Things I will not miss:
  1. Kids coming over everyday to borrow our stuff or asking for gumballs.
  2. The HOA.
  3. The annoying dog that barks at all hours of the day...and night!
  4. SR-73
  5. The stinky farms close by.
Things I will miss:
  1. The friendships I made.
  2. My house. This was our home for 4 years, we have a lot of memories here.
  3. Walking out of my house and always having someone to talk to.
  4. The low cost of living, being a middle unit townhouse we hardly had to turn our AC or Heater on.
  5. Knowing that I can call any of my neighbors at anytime of day or night for help.
  6. Our theater.
  7. Again my least most of them ;)
I am so excited for this next step in our lives, although I am sad to leave, I still can't wait to get into our new home and have a fresh start. I will miss you Summer Village!!!
