Tatum is 7!

What on Earth makes my little boy think its ok to grow up? I seriously feel so old to already have a 7 year old! I get so nervous with each year that passes at the thought of my little boy growing up. I honestly wish I could freeze time right now. I love this boy more than anything. He is so smart, loving, sincere, caring, compassionate and faithful. He loves the Gospel and loves to go to school. He is reading at a second grade level and is almost to 3rd grade math. He loves his brother and soon to be sister. Tatum I have talks about his baby sister almost daily and I am always shocked at the excitement in his voice as he asks me detailed questions about her. I know that he will be so good to her and always protect her. Everyday I am so proud to be his Mother.

For Tatum's birthday we did the normal morning routine. Streamers and balloons in his room filled with $1 for each year of his life.

Then it was off to school. Today they stopped school for an hour to line the streets of Alpine to welcome home Olympic bobsled medalist Chris Fogt. I met Tatum at school to see the event and I have to say it was pretty cool. Eric went to school with Chris and knew him pretty well, but it still was a neat experience to see a bronze metal up close. The school gave a free dress day to wear red, white and blue to support the Olympian.

These ladies below were so annoying. They work at the dermatology center across the street and kept butting in to get their picture with Chris. It was totally taking away from the kids and because of them a lot of kids missed out on touching the medal. Lame.

This was Tatum's reaction after he touched the medal! Priceless.

Afterwards I signed Tatum out and took him to McDonald's for lunch. Why is it that every kid picks that place to eat, the food is nasty!

After school we took a few close friends to Hang Time for his party. They all had so much fun playing dodge ball, doing flips into the pits, playing basketball and jumping on the tramps.

Trey was adorable as he would jump in.
He would hardly get any air but thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Our friend Gannon came to help with the kids. He attempted to karate kick the punching bag which is so high in the air that I don't think anyone could reach it.

We let them play for a while and then had pizza and cake and presents. I love Tatum's reactions while opening his gifts.

This boy had such a fun and successful birthday and this Mom is so glad the party is over with. Its so nice to do it all in one day :)

Discovery Gateway

A couple of weeks ago the kids had a day off from school and a coworker of Eric's invited us to the Discovery Gateway Museum. Its been so long since we had been there that everything was new to them.

My boys just ran from one thing to the next with the exception of the market. They played here for probably 45 min, no joke! I need one of these in my basement. It was so funny to me to see their different personalities while playing in the market. Tatum would take a shopping cart and sort all of the food exactly where it goes, Trey on the other hand would be the one to fill the cart and then just dump it.

I couldn't get these two to look at the camera for the life of me. Below I said "look at the camera" and they looked at the lady with a camera next to me...geesh!

My construction workers

And of course we had to ride the helicopter. There was a line and kids would not move out of the way for a picture.

My kids played so long and hard that on the drive home they passed out. Such a fun day.

Valentines Day

I'm usually about one Holiday behind on here by the time I get around to blogging again.

This Valentines Day was pretty busy. We started off the Holiday off with a night out to my favorite restaurant, Pei Wei. We went out the night before to avoid the crowds which I love because it just makes for 2 days of celebrating. Eric and I always try to do something special for this Holiday because it marks the anniversary of our engagement. I can't believe it has been 9 years since he proposed!!

The next day Tatum woke up to some surprises downstairs. Tatum wakes up about an hour before Trey does to get ready for school which makes little Holidays like this kind of difficult. Plus our mornings are always hectic and short on time so we really had to rush to pack it all in. My boys are so into Disney Infinity, so we got each of them a new character for the game and a few little treats. And why not start the day off with loads of sugar with some donuts. Really that was my lazy way of making breakfast fun :)

A bit later I got to help with Tatum's class party. Each kid made their own valentines box for the valentines exchange. Tatum insisted on a minecraft box and smores for his valentines. He loved helping me put these together.

During his party the made an owl craft, decorated cookies, played bingo and did a relay race. For the relay they had to put on funny costumes and I had to bribe Tatum to wear this wig.

I took some pictures for our ward daddy daughter dinner and talked them into letting me borrow these adorable props. I attempted a photo shoot with my boys but it was a cloudy day and my boys struggled to cooperate, but its documented and that's all that matters :)
